A series of short stories set in a post-apocalyptic world. The main character is an assassin named Shade, who had the ability to foresee death -- and the changing future.
From The Author
"Burn" was released near the end of the "write quickly so you can publish quickly" phase, where I was close to realizing that the above didn't work well for me (or in general, I argue). There had been positive feedback for "Break", the first in the series, or I probably wouldn't have released "Burn". After the release, however, there was not as much interest as I had hoped, and sales were minimal, so I decided to put the story in the Vault and focus on something else that I enjoyed writing more.
The Exe Lore was an interesting experiment -- or at least that's what I think of it as now. In writing, as well as any other field, experimentation is good. I learned that this type of story, and method of release, really isn't my cup of tea.
"Burn" is permanently in the "Unintended Finish" folder.
In one swift moment, everything can change…
The life of Shade the Exe has been turned upside down. Betrayed by all that he has known, Shade ventures into the war-torn wilderness with none but a woman who is not meant to exist at his side.
But all is not as it appears. When Shade has a startling vision, he finds himself thrust into a future he could never have expected – a future that will change his people, the Exes, forever.
The second short in the Exe Lore series, Burn continues the tale of Shade, and sets the course for discovery.
"Burn" was released under both Alexandra Lanc, and my old pen name, Crimson Sterling.
